Under the patronage of His Excellency the University President, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Othman, the sessions of the Fourth Regular Meeting of the Saudi University Vice Presidents for Educational and Academic Affairs, entitled "Assessment of Saudi universities' Experiences for the Foundation Program and the Challenges of Application", have been held on Tuesday, 14/4/1431 AH and lasted until Wednesday, 15/4/1431 AH with the participation of a number of Saudi universities.
The meeting started with a word by Dr. Abdullah Bin Salman Al-Salman, the KSU Vice President for Educational and academic Affairs welcoming the guests and participants, and explaining that the regular meetings of Saudi University Vice Presidents for Educational and Academic Affairs emphasize the commitment of Saudi universities to strengthen ties, aspects of communication, and exchange of advice and expertise, and aim at providing opportunities for creativity in the process of learning and teaching. This was followed by the guests' word delivered by Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Soyan, the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals Vice President for Academic Affairs, then a word delivered by Dr. Mohammed Bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Ohali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education.
Then, His Excellency, the KSU President delivered a word on this occasion announcing the construction of a small campus for the Foundation Program at King Saud University with the latest equipment and an estimated budget of 750 million Riyals. His Excellency stressed that the Saudi University Vice Presidents for Educational and Academic Affairs have a great responsibility in the development of the educational process in the Kingdom, and that the relationship between Saudi Universities is of mutual competition, integration, and cooperation.
Subsequently, the sessions of the meeting began involving twenty-one paper presentation divided into five main topics including: the Foundation Program Mission and Objectives, the Academic System of the Foundation Program, Development and Quality of the Foundation Program in light of the Partnership Experiences with Public and Private Bodies, E-Learning, Knowledge and Learning Environment in the Foundation Program, and Universities' experiences in the implementation of the Foundation Program. |
