Administrative applications are divided into two departments
- Section of applications for administrative information systems under mainframes.
- Section of applications for smaller systems under personal computer.
Staff Affairs System
The system has been completed and is now making the required tests in the staff affairs administration. The system covers most of the needs of the personnel administration and following final testing will be totally completed. The first phase of the system includes the basic required information dealing with the employee: vacancies; monthly data, salaries, vacations and employment budgets.
Security and Safety System
More than 60 percent of the system is completed, including: analysis; design and screen layouts.
Admissions and Registration System
This is the largest system in regards to programming and maintenance. Sub-programs have been written and edited to meet the needs of the Admissions Office and Registration. Old data has been set to ease the burden on the information base. The system has been expanded to serve 70,000 students and features new programs for simultaneous admission as well as for e-registration. New programs for graduation have been developed for graduation.
Housing
The new system has been completed and is currently available to users.
Student Affairs System
The system includes special programs and offers for students; such as discounts on Saudi Airway and railway tickets. In addition there is information on housing.
Financial Affairs System
The budget for 1418 / 1419H as well as the amendments required by the fiscal administration has been completed. Programs have been amended to solve problems concerning fiscal information, amending grouping programs and the optional system for information in the year 2000. Follow up and updates for operation programs JCL and grouping programs have been completed and are compatible with the new system, OS/390.
Inventory Monitoring System
The inventory system formally on IMS database information has been changed to be compatible with the new database.
PC’s Applications System
Maintenance for some small programs for a number of the university administrations, faculty and deanships has been completed. Four integrated systems have been completed to serve KSU according to their administration.
Inventory Monitoring System
The inventory monitoring system has been converted from IMS to IDMS. Much to the acceptance and admiration of the staff, the system now meets the needs of inventory monitoring.
System for Following-up Printed Materials
The integrated system used for following up printed materials for the press administration has been successfully installed and employee training in this system is progressing.
System for Dariah Kindergarten
Installation of a system for the kindergarten at KSU that includes complete information about the kids and the school has been installed.
System for the Faculty of Translation and Foreign Languages
This system is still under construction
Scholarship and Training System
This is a system for following-up scholarships and training for the Administration of Scholarship and Training at KSU.
Attendance for the General Administration of Personal Affairs
Solutions for the problem of tracking attendance have been completed.
Monitoring of Problematic Female Students
The program that tracks problematic students has been completed.
System for Sessions of the Committee of Scholarships and Training
This system provides many advantages such as data entry and editing texts. It is also a good search engine.
Inventory System
This system is designed to manage inventories. It allows the user to easily recognize shortages and reorder. It also is an easy reference to track monthly and annual stock.
