This department undertakes the supervision of two Communication Networks:

1. This department is responsible for the Mainframe which consists of the controlling sets for the communication and linking lines between all administrations, colleges, and terminal devices such as monitors, printers and communication sets through telephones to all branches of KSU and the Center of the Academic Studies for Girls.
2. The Optical Fiber central and local networks connecting the different buildings of the university’s student housing.

This department has many responsibilities and maintains direct interaction with users  in the following ways:

1. Planning, designing, installing and maintaining the communication network.
2. Contribute to the selection of communication systems as well as the managing the connections and monitors. They also contribute to the testing of any new computer equipment for suitability for use for the university.
3. Analyze and determine any problems with computers in he computer division of KSU as well as provide a solution.
4. Supervise, distribute, install and maintain computers.
5. Study different computer networks.
6. Train KSU employees in maintaining the computer network in their work areas.
