Open Meetings between the Supervisor in Charge of Science and Medical Studies and Students of the Center

The supervisor of Science and Medical Studies, Dr. Amal Bint Jamil Fatani, held a number of open meetings with students of colleges which she oversees in each college. The meetings were held as follows:

• Saturday, 29/12/1429 for Malaz Center students.
• Sunday 30/12/1429 for the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Computer Studies, the Faculty of Food Science and Agriculture, at King Fahd Medical City.
• Monday, 1/1/14230 for Students of dentistry.
• Tuesday 2/1/1430, for students of medicine and pharmacy while; the meeting with students of the College of Nursing was on Sunday, 7/1/1430 H.

The meetings in each location were attended by the Deputy Director of the Center and the Director of Follow-up Directorate, and Director of Students' Affairs, the Director Of Activities.

In each meeting, Dr. Amal was keen to listen to students. As needed, some meetings were extended to 1:30 am and up to 2:00am during which Dr. Amal received the questions gladly and heartily and was keen in answering them and directing officials concerned to consider the issues presented.Dr. Amal was careful to remind students that, despite the global economic crisis, the government has allocated a large sum of money for higher education. Dr. Amal welcomed complaints and suggestions of all students and allocated the following e-mail to be used as a link between the supervisor and the students and for students' proposals: MSSM@KSU.EDU.SA and she assured students of the confidentiality of names and information.

One of the suggestions put forward by students was that they should be given the opportunity to organize events and seminars and they should also be given the opportunity to take care of the issue from all its aspects which was agreed upon by Dr. Amal and requested them to provide her with all the proposals.

Dr. Amal also raised the idea of finding a mechanism for communication between students and faculty members to help them solve their problems and make their voices reach the authorities and participate in decision-making processes, develop strategies and coordinate plans and methods for resolving negative aspects with female Class Leaders. The Student's Monitor shall be a coordinator between the students and Faculty Members in terms of scheduling of study and testing dates to suit all students.
