Last Tuesday 22nd of March the Collage Of Languages and Translation (COLT) in the University Studies Centre in Olaysha started its activities of “Alumni Day” where several valuable lectures and workshops took a place, honored by the presence of H.R.H. Princess Nouf Bint Miteb Bin Abdullah Al Saud. The activities lasted for 2 days.
The Dean of the Centre Dr. Noura Al Shiekh gave an encouraging speech for the students referring to the significant importance of such an event to get female graduates qualified and ready for the job requirements. Thanking His Highness King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud for his generous support for education, and Dr. Abdullah AlOthman for his distinguished leadership of King Saud University. She also thanked COLT for its continuous efforts in supporting the role of translation in KSU.
Princess Nouf Bint Miteb, being a former graduate of COLT, gave a speech as well about her experience in business away of luxury life but by her own efforts, telling the students that dreams do come true, and they have to stand side by side with their brothers of their country to build it and lead it to prosperity and development.
Many professors and teachers gave beneficial workshops for the students, and several last graduated students from COLT presented their experiences being employees and starting their jobs, clarifying the basics and details of jobs requirements for the future graduates and explaining the obstacles and difficulties they may face.
Besides, many centres concerned in hiring female graduates offered workshops and information for the students.
There were also a lot of discussions and suggestions from the audience, where the workshops and lectures met a very positive reaction.
