Failure is a Blessing: a Prof

The King Saud University (KSU) creates new majors for female students to help improve women status, said Dr. Al-Jowharah Az-Zamil, director of Knowledge and Creativeness Program, in an interview.

Resalah: "Whoever hovers do not like to creep! " is an aphorism said by some youth who are not pleased with low-paid jobs. Any explanation?

Dr. Al-Jowhara: Youth phase is a foundation process in one's lifetime. The youth cannot reach the top, if do not have what it takes to push them up. Those who know this are the real wealth of the community: they know their roles, qualifications, and aspirations while armed with hopes that help them exceed obstacles.

Resalah: What are the hindrances standing against the youth to achieve their aspirations  in the community like customs and traditions?

Dr. Al-Jowhara: I think the community  has overcome the problem of customs and traditions to some extent. The youngsters can occupy some posts that were rejected by the community.

Resalah:  Some youth feel frustrated, if fail. How to change this?

Dr. Al-Jowhara:  Few people know that failure is a blessing since it paves the way to success. We learn new lessons from failures.

Resalah: Do you agree with those saying "seeking aspirations gather between hardships and enjoyment"?

Dr. Al-Jowhara: Yes, I do since success requires planning, efforts, patience, and enjoyment. Enjoyment is the fruit of this success, which people enjoy for achieving their current objectives.

Resalah: After graduation, the by-then students get energetic but soon find nothing of their aspirations on the ground. How would this  affect on their career life?

Dr. Al-Jowhara: Graduates should know that it is not easy to find the job they are dreaming of. It is normal to have many jobs till you find the job you are seeking. They should work for the private sector to sharpen their skills to be qualified enough.

Resalah: Is an unemployment a nightmare that kills youth aspirations?

Dr. Al-Jowhara: It wastes manpower capital and affects negatively on the community. However, alumni should realize it is a global problem, and if they could not find proper jobs after being qualified enough, the problem does not lie i them.

Resalah: What about feminism? Is it a solution or problem raising?

Dr. Al-Jowhara: Women are empowered according to the 8th development plan which focuses on ironing out difficulties standing against women participation in development activities. Women could garner advanced positions thanks to expertise and education they receive at King Saud University and other universities supported by our wise government. The last support was setting up a woman-only university: Princess Nurah bint Abdur-Rahman University, led by a woman. This reflects the rights of males and females guaranteed in  the Glorious Quran and Sanctified Sunna.

Resalah: What about feminism on campus?

Dr. Al-Jowhara: The KSU is planning to give females the opportunity to join new majors that are highly demanded in the labor market.

Resalah: Could you shed light on the Knowledge and Creativeness Program you lead?

Dr. Al-Jowhara: The program helps qualify female cadres in humanities field: it hones up their skills; broadens their minds; and widens their knowledge.

Resalah: What is the message you wanna say to the youngsters?

Dr. Al-Jowhara: Keep on Islamic principles; work out an overall plan to achieve aspirations; and do not be driven by rosy dreams that keep you away from hard, fruitful work.
