  Confidential Studies Conducted: Dean

King Abdullah Institute for Consulting Researches and Studies conducts confidential studies and researches for the interest of some governmental bodies, said Dr. Hamad Al-Alsheikh, the institute director, in an interview.

Resalah: Give us a brief about the King Abdullah Institute?

Al-Alshiekh: It is the representative of the King Saud University (KSU) to all governmental and non-governmental organizations.  It conducts researches and studies necessary to these institutions. It meets needs of labor market. It was set up in 1997.

Resalah: What are the capabilities the institute has?

Al-Alshiekh: It has what the KSU has. It has more than 3000 highly-qualified cadres who earned PhDs and MAs from well-known universities. It has state-of-the-art technology on campus. It has centers, institutes, hospitals, labs, and libraries. These facilities beef march of studies and researches up.

Resalah: What are the institute recent activities?

Al-Alshiekh: In summer, the institute conducted a study on Developing the Field Work of the General Presidency of Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice. It clinched an agreement with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh to conduct a study on Oil and Development Needs. It also signed agreements with Sabec, Aramco, and others as well.

Resalah: What about people with disabilities?

Al-Alshiekh: The institute signed agreements to work out an academic plan for Special Education diploma; a higher diploma for learning difficulties, and a higher diploma for speaking disorder.

Resalah: Does the institute conduct confidential researches for governmental bodies?

Al-Alshiekh: Yes, it does. However, I am not allowed to name studies conducted for some bodies that want to keep their study results in secret.  However, others welcome to announce their study results. It depends on their request.
