Second University City

Last Saturday was a historic day in the history of King Saud University (KSU). It  inked a contract on establishing a university city for girls on campus.  30 years ago, the first foundation of the university city was laid down in Deriah Campus.

Everybody knows the suffering undergone by the female students, faculty members, and personnel at the current old buildings in Elishah and Malaz Campuses. The buildings have never been planned for academic use. So the KSU had to make restorations works every now and then trying to just make them proper to use for academic and administration purposes.  They lack the same architectural coherence. They are sporadically-established and are separated from the other off-campus life with a fence.

I extend my congrats for all university staff on this buildings to be finished hopefully after three years. As  late King Khalid and King Fahd - may their souls rest in peace - laid down the first KSU foundation, I should mention that H.M. King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and H.R.H. Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz, have presented the current and coming generations a thoroughly  modern, integrated university city.
