Speedy Reshuffles

By H.E Prof Dr. Abdullah Al-Othman

KSU President

Thanks to repeated speedy reshuffles in the world nowadays, everything goes on a hurry. Lagging behind, one will be driven into a time which he cannot keep up with.

This is clear in the 19th National Computer Conference held on campus this week by the Saudi computer Association. The conference - the National Economy and Information and Communications Technology Industry – discusses a pool of topics on ICT and knowledge industry and how to make the community benefits from these technologies.

Backed up by the ample support by the wise leadership, the KSU is graced with presence of H.R.H. Prince Naif bin  Abdul-Aziz, Minister of the Interior,  to open the conference on behalf of H.R.H. Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense, and Inspector - general. This proves the great attention given by H.M. King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan to bring state-of-the-art technology in the country.

Graced with H.R.H. Prince Naif presence, the KSU remembers his past visit last year when he initiated the KSU universality scheme on sponsoring the 7th Saudi Engineering Conference on behalf of Crown Prince Sultan, Allah bless him. That year, the KSU initiated a chain of development programs; inked cooperation agreements with world-class universities and centers; and signed agreements with specialized corporations to adopt technology.

The mature world economies make knowledge cornerstone of their plans. This is why the KSU endowments, research chairs, and Riyadh Techno Valley are proofs that KSU is thinking ahead. It believes that it is a must to be ready in a time that neglects those lagging behind.
