King Saud University dispatched a delegation to China to delve into the experiences of how to identify impediments and create solutions. China has made tangible achievements in all walks of life: corporations, factories and universities. The 10-day visit, organized by the National Centre of Youth Studies, comprised visiting many economic, educational, industrial installations, foremost of which are: The Chinese Euro College of Business Administration in Shanghai, the Saudi-Chinese Friendship Society, and the Sabic headquarter in China.
Commenting on the visit, Dr. Saleh An-Nasar, professor of curricula and Arabic teaching, said the visit, from February 24th to March 4, 2008, was a fruit of the cooperation between the centre and youth business committee. It aimed at briefing the students on the opportunities of continuous growth; great thrive; and scientific progress of Chinese universities. The parties concerned inked a memorandum of understanding on a number of common cooperation at the level of youth business, in particular.
Asked about the pros of the visit, Student Al-Aqueel, said, “The positive aspects were miscellaneous, foremost of which were being briefed on the urban, economic, industrial rise of China and recognizing economic and trade figures.”
Student Qurashy describes the big difference in culture between the two countries as dazzling. “We recognized the traditions and culture of the Chinese. They have impressive heritage he sensed particularly in a museum in Shanghai.”
Student Omar Ar-Rais, college of business administration, said he benefited from the trip particularly in the cultural and educational aspects. Our education and culture might benefited from their culture and education system.
