University radio reflects the cultural and academic goings-on; it is the output of cultural freedom that mirrors the tangible technological advance in communication. Radio reaches a major bracket of society, and functions a bridge between the university and the society. It covers the jump the university is making to be amongst the pioneering universities in the Arab world.
University radios are accredited in the advanced countries and some Arab countries. It is a must for the students of journalism and communication since it is provides them with on-the-job training. It gives them the opportunity to prepare and present programs on air. I do suggest that the university shall study this idea.
Drawing a comparison between the costs of building and equipping a TV studio and a radio station, the latter will be much cheaper bearing in mind that the university has a production center. I suggest that the experimental airing should be for 12 hours or last up till the end of duty hours.
