French is Official Language in Niger: Non-Arab Student

French is the official language in Niger; Hausa is the national language; and 35% of populations speak Arabic, says Yunis Khamis, a sophomore in Islamic culture department in an interview.

Asked about his education history in Niger, he said he had studied at “Sabil al-Falah Primary School”, in which teaching was in Arabic and English. He joined the Khamis Institute in the preparatory stage, then joined Faisal Islamic Center and got the high school certificate. Now, he is in the Kingdom to earn a university degree.

Asked about the figure of students at Fasial Center, Yunis said, they were 500. Most of them prefer Islamic studies to scientific sections.

Asked about his sought-after career after graduation, Yunis said he would plan to be Niger ambassador to the kingdom or another Arab country.

Describing education standard in the KSU, Yunis said it was good and on the way to be like that in international universities.

Asked about his previous knowledge about the KSA he replied, “The country of the two holy mosques and safety.”

Giving a final word to Resalah newspaper, “I would like to thank the newspaper for giving an exclusive space for the non-Arab students.”
