KSU Inks Agreement with Nobel Laureate

An agreement was inked last Monday between KSU represented by HE Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Uthman, KSU rector, and Professor Heckman, a Nobel laureate in economics. The agreement is on bilateral economic cooperation.
In statements Al-Uthman said the university signed 25 agreements with Nobel laureates in various fields of science. They would follow up the postgraduates and would run joint researches, he added.
On his part, professor Heckman said that his visit focused on enhancing efforts exerted to hone human skills up, pointing out that he had given a number of lectures in this domain.
Professor Heckman pointed out that his researches focused on macroeconometrics, thru which he assessed social programs, means to activate labor market and civil rights.
He attributed the high prices of oil to high demand on energy particularly by China and India, in addition to the increasing prices of some commodities like wheat, corn, and other crops. Criticizing the USA economic policies, Professor Heckman said it was not wise in the recent years.
