20 Research Chairs on Medicine Launched

20 research chairs on medicine were launched last Wednesday by Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Uthman at the college of medicine, said Professor Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdy, vice-rector for branch affairs.

In statements, Al-Ghamdy said, ”These chairs will beef up the scientific research; will provide training sessions; improve education quality; will create a distinguished generation of researchers and physicians in the kingdom.”

“The research chairs on medicine raise medical awareness amongst community members; support the strategic planning of health services; and create partnerships. The partnerships will be reached with research centers and local and international universities to help raise the performance standard of medical institutions,” said Professor Dr. Musaed Al-Salman, director of university hospitals.
