Promoting culture of rationalizing water consumption: Chair Director

Saudi Arabia is in an arid region in which scarcity of water, lack of rainwater, no-river problems exist. This is why; a need has emerged to provide alternative sources of water and to make benefits of water to the maximum, says, Dr. Professor Dr. Abdurrhman Al-Azbah, chair director, in an interview.
Resalah: What are the chair activities?
Dr. Al-Azbah: It offers solutions for water problems starting from sources to consumption. It rationalizes water consumption; administers water systems; improves water quality; promotes the culture of finding solutions to water problems.

Resalah: What are the chair objectives?
Dr. Al-Azbah: Conducting studies; presenting consultation; funding the research projects; backing innovations up; promoting knowledge and cooperation with industrial and researching institutions; and promoting culture of rationalizing water consumption.
Resalah: What is your plan to achieve chair objectives?
Dr. Al-Azbah: Recruiting the best creative staff from in and outside Saudi Arabia; running cooperation with national and international houses of expertise, improving the curricula on water by providing state-of-the-art training kits, and offering math solutions to water problems in Arabic and English.
Resalah: What is the chair mission?
Dr. Al-Azbah: Providing an environment promoting academic approaches and supporting innovations in water spheres in compliance with King Saud University aspirations.

Resalah: What is the future of chair?
Dr. Al-Azbah: We are looking forward that the chair becomes an academic research reference; to be an edifice of water science nationally and internationally.
