King Saud University continues to host a number of Nobel laureates as part of the University’s program to enhance scientific research and build international collaboration.
The University works with laureates to establish areas of scientific co-operation, and organizes conferences and plenary sessions with talks by visiting laureates. Through this exceptional program, KSU strives to enrich scientific research both at the University and nationally by taking advantage of laureates' expertise in their respective areas such as medicine, economics, physics, and chemistry. Visits by laureates typically last between two and three days, and include a number of activities, including:
i. Establishing strategic research partnerships between laureates, the scientific institution they are affiliated with, and KSU. These partnerships involve jointresearch with distinguished KSU researchers, research supervision of postgraduates, and research counseling within the various research programs at KSU.
ii. A plenary session to be attended by a number of state officials, faculty members, students, associated managers, and other academics. The theme of the plenary will be a general one taken from the laureate’s area of specialization.
