In the academic year 1999/2000. A Vice Rector ship for Studies Development and Follow up was established and was directly responsible for this department.
In 2000, the Rector issued 3 administrative decision in the light of which this department was divided into 3 district sub departments:-

1. Studies and Development.
2. Follow up.
3. Statistics, Information and documenters.

In the same year the document part of the statistics, Information and Documents sub department was transferred to the Documents centre as was embodied in the administrative decision 365 dated 24/1/1424 H. and was named Statistics and Information, reporting directly to the Vice Rector for Studies, Development and Follow up.

One of the most important services of information which help this departments achieve in its role and objectives in the authorization decision, University council decisions, the University Academic council as well as Annual Reports of the many University Units.
